Disclaimer: There are no koalas in this video but I really needed a pun for my title

Some people bring back keychains or magnets when they return from a trip. Me? I brought back a piece of myself.

It’s mesmerizing. When I hold it up close to the light to examine it, it winks back at me. Daring me to uncover the secrets it holds. I’m tempted to appease it.

My fingers have memorized every inch of it. I still find myself clutching it tight to my chest though. Maybe I’m hoping if I press hard enough, it’ll sink in and fuse with the rest of me, where it belongs.

But deep down, I know the real reason. I’m scared that if I set it aside for even a second, there’s a chance it’ll get swept away by the mundane routine my life has fallen into at University.

Australia was such a breath of fresh air. I don’t know yet what any of this means but I’m looking forward to my next adventure.

There’s more of me to discover out there, you see.
